Welcome to The Boom Signal.Org!!  On this website you can download the current and past Editions of The Boom Signal publication.  This year I proudly present the 32nd Anniversary Edition!  I wholeheartedly thank all the Units who have taken the time to help me keep this Boom Operator tradition alive! 

What is The Boom Signal?  For those who aren’t familiar with the tradition, it is a compilation of Unit inputs (Active, Guard, Reserve).  It is the only one of its kind although several attempts have been made to copy it, without success.  The intent of The Boom Signal is a communication link between each Boom Operator, past, present and future.  It’s a historical document which started in 1979.  We, as a community, need to ensure this tradition lives on.  We owe it to ourselves.  With that, I am profoundly grateful that I have the opportunity to continue this history.  I firmly believe that The Boom Signal goes hand-in-hand with the many traditions we uphold.

In scanning, compiling and posting the past editions I was amazed that a lot of the advice from Senior Enlisted leaders in our career field during the 1979 through mid 1990's parallels the same issues we face today as a career field.  Please enjoy these copies of the original editions, remember this is our career field history through a 32-year window.
